Meet the Team: Brian Simmons, Senior Solution Architect

Brian enjoys BTM’s work culture, project methodology, and collaborative efforts with the NetSuite team in Vietnam. Read more about what he does and why he joined BTM.
What are your responsibilities at BTM?
I am responsible for leading all phases of the NetSuite implementation cycle from requirements gathering to cutover and support. I work closely with our clients to understand their business and technical needs and then help them design and implement a NetSuite solution that meets their needs.
What made you want to join the BTM Global team?
A former employee had told me about BTM and how much she enjoyed it here. I decided to reach out and test the waters, and the rest is history.
What excites you about your work?
I enjoy trying to solve problems. My favorite part of the job is solutioning and designing customizations within NetSuite to address needs that native NetSuite might not be able to support.
What do you wish others in the industry knew about BTM?
I wish others in the industry knew about our NetSuite team members. We have some great folks here, and all of them are extremely knowledgeable and among the best in the business.
What keeps you interested in this industry?
The diverse clients and industries that we serve keep things interesting for me. In the past few years alone, I have had clients spanning multiple industries such as Restaurant supply, Grocery Stores, Appliances, Firearms, Oil and Gas, and General Retail.
Why did you decide to join BTM?
I joined BTM for a few reasons. I really enjoyed the work culture and everyone that I had met during the interview process. I also enjoyed the implementation project methodology that BTM uses. Finally, I really enjoyed the fact that the BTM Vietnam team implements NetSuite as well. It’s great to collaborate with an offshore team that understands both the technical and functional areas of NetSuite and not just coding.
Tell us about your life outside of work.
My family keeps me pretty busy when I am not at work. My wife and I have three kids together (16, 14, and 11). When we aren’t running kids around to sports practices or school events, I enjoy fishing, and I play guitar in a local 90s rock cover band (‘A Vicious Cycle’ from Dayton, Ohio.
